Update- Ellyn doesn't have to have a cast at all!
Fruit Salad
Yesterday we got some really great news. Ellyn's neurologist says that we can start weaning her off her seizure medication. He doesn't think we are going to need it any more, based on the fact that she has had no seizures since that first incident and that the dosage has never needed to be increased since she was barely three. We are so excited. It will be gradual over the next month but then, barring any seizures, we will be done. Our week at Shasta was absolutely wonderful. It was in the 90s or 100s the entire time. We swam, we ate, we played. I wish I would have slept more, but my two youngest would have none of that.
Revelation- water sports can wear you out and give you lots of bruises and make your muscles really sore. Jane, Mike, and I were able to get up on the Wakeboard. I discovered that I obviously don't use the muscles in my sides like I should. Also, I'm pretty sure that I know what it feels like to get your arms yanked out of their sockets. I thought water skiing made me nervous, wakeboarding made me more nervous. I could get up no problem, I face planted more times than I care to count.
While Jane looks incredibly nervous in the tubing picture (she was, ridiculously so), we finally got her on the tube with Isaac (my nephew), and me. Mike did his best to try to kill us, legally. Jane finally realized how fun tubing can be. We hit heads really hard too. It still hurts, if I had realized we had hit that hard I would have probably checked her for a concussion.
Ellyn and Saywer loved the tube too. Sadie, not so much. But... Mike helped her on the jet ski and she even did it by herself a bit. That's the other place I got bruises, pulling myself up onto the standing jetski. My sister in laws (Tracey and Adina) and I were comparing knee and elbow bruises. Mike got a little jetski addiction.
It was a great trip. I love Mike's family so much. Lots of cute kids, lots of great siblings, wonderful parents, we are so blessed.
In other news- I fell carrying Ellyn up the stairs at the end of the trip. I cradled her head with my free hand but landed on her foot with my knee. She is very undersensitive to pain and was happy as a clam in the water and sitting around but was limping when she walked. So... I took her into the ER when we got home and guess what. I broke my daughter's foot. Tomorrow we go in to the Pediatric Orthopedist. My poor baby.
Jane drove up to Washington with Kenn and Barb and spent a few days with them and now she's at Meagan's. She is having a blast and we are missing her.
Sadie says I need to stop now and finish watching Far and Away with her. So... blog out.

Um..this post was hilarious. Tubing scares the h--l out of me, really!! I'm ALWAYS afraid to do it. But, it does give you a little bit of a thrill. Glad you could spend time with such great family!
It was so good to hear from you! Love reading your blogs! Love, Aunt Joan
