"Shall Be Destroyed"
Part of tonight's FHE was a game Tristan invented. The person who is "it" closes their eyes while the other people start acting out a way to serve or a way to be bad. Then the "it" person points (with eyes closed) to a person and asks if they are serving or not. Then everyone admits to their various activities. Tristan was acting out vacuuming as a service because he discovered he could make a vacuum noise with a stack of toy cups. Sierra, who just got her music class recorder, acted out playing music for old people in the orphanage...uh, she meant nursing home. Kaia was wildly flipping around and said she was acting out listening to loud rock and roll music on Sunday. There must be opposition in all things, right? Then I started reading the latter part of Alma 46, explaining what was going on as best I could. Pretty soon I notice Tristan has his blanket over his head and he is crying. When I asked him what was the matter, he wept "I'm afraid I'll be destroyed!". I'd been talking about those who joined Moroni's army saying things like: "if they should transgress the commandments of God, or fall into transgression, and be ashamed to take upon them the name of Christ, the Lord should rend them even as they had rent their garments" and "We covenant with our God, that we shall be destroyed, even as our brethren in the land northward, if we shall fall into transgression". I asked him if he was worried about being destroyed because he'd been using so much potty talk today and teasing his sisters. He said "yes". So then we had a talk about repentance, and how much our Heavenly Father loves us, and our Savior's Atonement, and a little bit about how he is off the hook until he turns 8 and gets baptized. Sweet, sweet, Tristan.

If Tristan is worried about being destroyed then we are all in trouble. The pictures are great! Where did you get the one of the homeless guy?
