Brooke!!!Thank you, this is wonderful. It was killing me to read Ellynn and Brind's emails and know that the rest of the family was telling them really great stories that we wanted to hear too. So maybe we can all just post some of our letters here and read together. Today our Stake President cancelled Church because of a huge snow storm. We must have at least 8 inches out there already and there is no sign of stopping. Adam and the girls are eating cereal right now and from the sounds of it Sierra has soaked herself in milk. Adam is boasting that he is feeding Kaia cereal even though that is contrary to the diet that I've carefully mapped out for her. I think Sierra has some sort of milk allergy, at least cheese seems to cause huge rashes on her cheeks and chin. So I've been trying to lay off the milk products for a while to test my theory and to have Kaia avoid milk all together. Now Adam is cleaning up Sierra and she is shouting, "I want to watch a movie!". Adam's reply was "how 'bout we watch a movie called "The Back Of Your Eyelids". She didn't get it. Kaia is entering the speed crawling phase. She gets really excited when Sierra walks in the room and tries to crawl away as fast as she can. Then she moves from "hey this is fun my sister is chasing me" to "aaaayyyeeee she is going to catch me and I'm going to die!!" and starts screaming. We are having a really hard time renting the apartment downstairs. I think it is because the word is out around campus that we have the noisiest kids in the history of the world and living below us is worse than living with elephants and monkeys at the zoo. Kaia also pulls herself up on everything then in one fell swoop knocks heavy and noisy objects onto the wood floor. I'm still cleaning peaches off the walls and cupboards from yesterday when she knocked the baby food off the table and it shattered on the tile. We are planning our "Bennett Family Road Trip '05" and departure time is set for next Friday at 5 p.m. We are going to drive through the night and pull into Nauvoo at 7 a.m. or so. We've got a campsite reserved, a babysitter lined up so that we can go through a session, tickets to a play, and some of my family history to look up. From Nauvoo we are going to Independence, Carthage, Indiana, Detroit, Nashville, Ft. Benning (the most important part of our trip is stopping to play with the Stinchfields), Savannah, a few stops in Florida, then back to Colorado. We couldn't be more excited. And no one can tell us that it is going to be hell to have our girls trapped in the car for so long, we just won't listen. All we need is 'Nemo' and 'The incredibles' for Sierra and we'll be set. Well, if Church gets cancelled every Sunday I guess I'll have this much time for blogging. But probably not. Can't wait to read what the rest of you are up to.
Love,
Mindi, Adam, Sierra & Kaia Jane
