pics from the californ-i-a Thanksgiving
I’m being spurred on here by Brooke’s post. Been meaning to do this all week, but life is crazy you know.
it wasn’t really hard to know what we were thankful for this Thanksgiving… SUN! (or, at least temps in the 60’s). I, personally, have never spent any real time in this area, so this was an absolute blast. Brooke and Mike are a riot like always – seriously providing a home away from home. So needed. So grateful. Thanks so much for the fun.
Anywho…. a couple snaps:
trees like this actually do exist. absolutely unreal. Dennis the Menace grew up in these parts.
Jack’s in serious heaven… stuff like this just ain’t growin’ in the backyard at home.
Really?… did this happen in this life?
Benn pretending she’s an eclipse
Yep. She’s still a cute niece from this angle too
Hazel helping take care of little Ellyn… Helpful Hazel is her name.
Lame sunset over the Pacific. Almost looked like it was in HD.
Mike’s little fire. Just right for smore’s. Oh, and still 65 degrees out. Wow.
Getting ready to pork out. Check out the view from the window. (Yes, that’s the bay down there)
The spread beginning to form….
Okay, so I was excited about dinner. Must be hungry now too.
Check out the lone cypress out on the rock, complete with rock ring and rock wall. This is just “there.” Unreal. Like Mr. Miyagi on ‘roids.
My gorgeous! wife. She’s glad to be back in the grey rainy part of the country after this trip. I don’t blame her. Too much vitamin D there.
Shot of the main room of the house. The digs are truly amazing. Like something out of a magazine. Mike’s electronics setups are like something out of a magazine too. My hero.
The nerds doing online crossword puzzles. At least they have healthy, great hair.
Sunny day at the park. Sunny. Sunny. Warm.
Benn.In.Motion.
Look at em. How cute! And Santa can’t feel his legs.
Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without two Turkey’s in a tree. I left the comma in Turkey’s to bother those of you who know better. Capitalized it too.
I know, I know. There’s one in Utah now. But we still don’t have one so it gets a picture. Oh my sweet…… I am now heavier because of you, but also happier.

Jealous!! Oh, so jealous! Jack looks so old! Can't even handle it. If we don't ever make it to this CA home I might SCREAM!! Btw, Ellynn and Jason, Geof. says he forgot to mention you on his thank you blog. THANK YOU to you both for making his trip so awesome!
he is so old and he is getting the attitude to go with it. obviously he is not all his father he has a little of me in there. which we are all regretting at this point. it is so hard he is still such a sweet cute little boy who tries to be kind and considerate, but the demons inside keeps breaking through. we are getting closer to those teenage years and we are very nervous. why don't we have a handbook? right we do now i just need to go study it!!
he thanked us a lot. we don't need public thanks. we're pretty humble like that.
i love the picture of you Meags and the comment from Cory. You look so great! and you and benny do have very healthy great hair.
i'm still not sure i wanna read the "thanksgiving with the allens" post. i think i'll be too jealous!
that was me obviously. although i'm sure Jason would agree with everything i said.
