Here's to an active lifestyle
So dad was talking about doing a biggest looser kind of challange which is cool but we are morphing it a bit. When I worked at the Y (YMCA) I came up with a challnge to get people motivated to work out. There was a game board and every day you worked out you got to move closer to the end. The first three finnishers got a free turkey. (it was at thanksgiving time). It was a huge success and people loved it. So I thought we could try it as a family and it is something everyone can do including the kids. 30 minutes every day (except Sunday) of physical activity. Not working in your yard (sorry mom), but walking running biking yoga jumping on the trampoline etc. We kind of started last weekend and my kids love it! Now if one of you smarty pants can figure out how to track it, it would be really helpful. Cor said he would put something up but if anyone else has an idea let us know. We will end in august around the family reunion and the 3 people who have the most days will get a super duper prize that I will think of shortly. We will start Monday. Lifes too short to be lazy. So get out there and play!
Love meags
Ps. Cory started running at Christmas time 9 to 15 miles per week (about 30 minutes 3 to 5 days a week) and he has lost 18lbs and 2 notches on the belt without any change to his diet. And you know how we love food at our house especially when I am preggers.

What a great idea! So where is the reunion? In Utah or are you talking Washington? I do something similiar with one of my classes. We did one from Nov. to the end of Feb. and the winner won a heart monitor/and or $50 if they had one, which they had. We are doing one now until the end of May. They will get a gift certificate to their favorite resturant, $35 limit. :) (The things I do to get people to come to my class!)
A great idea indeed! I am in! Good for Cory. Tony went off Coke about a month ago and hasn't lost any weight. We totally thought he would because he drank so dang much. Maybe he should start running.
Whoohoo! We are in. Adam says he is totally going to beat me at this HTAAL (here's to an active lifestyle, is that what we can call it? :)), but he is wrong. With PT starting next week, I'm going to be back in the saddle. Sierra is super excited too, so are Kaia and Tristan--they just don't know it yet. I have no idea how to track something like this, can't wait to see what Cory comes up with. Are we starting tomorrow?
Love it love it love it. I'm planning on putting my new gym pass to work so this will just motivate me all the more!
