Utah Valley Marathon/Half/5K

I've been putting off this post because I know there are runners in the family who won't be able to join in, and I don't want to rub lemon juice into their lack-of-race-i-bility wounds, so to speak. But I can't contain myself. The Utah Valley race series is three months from today. I signed up for the marathon in January, only because Adam and Meagan and Brooke talked me into it. I'm on week 17 of my 30 week training. I'm slightly paranoid that the slightest injury will make all this hard work for naught, but so far so good. Is there anyone one out there that will join me in racing that day? There is a half marathon and a 5K, too. Three months is plenty of time to get ready. Pllleeessseeee?

I really should do it. But.......No. I suck at running, but obviously I just need to practice/train. Good for you though! I know Ash is doing one in a couple of months, I just can't remember which.

Face book Ashley and let her know. Her race, I think, is
May 13th, but I believe she would do the half. Who knows!

if we some how get rich between now and june i will be there to run at least the 5k. i could probably do the half if i walked most of it. you would finish the full before i finish the half, but that's ok. but... and there is a good chance we will strike it rich in the next couple of months, if i can i will be there!!

My dream is to run a marathon and now is a perfect time for me to do it but I have the butterflies just thinking about it. Let me sleep on it and I will let you know. I will ask Leash if she is interested too.

Mindi i love you. However i have no desire to ever run a full marathon. this may someday change but as of now, no thanks. BUT i will train for the half and perhaps to that. Jessy i think you should do the half with me and i'll try to keep up with my stubby little legs. :)

Jason has stubbie little legs---who knew? If I can get over all these stupid knee foot injuries I have been plagued with of late I would do the 1/2 and make you all look fast and strong!!!
Thanks for your prayers and I am so glad you were safe last night!!!

Min, I am still trying to figure out how to get down there and do it. It's Mike's finals week though and I have to be back the next week to volunteer for Jane's school at the U.S. Open and we have a trip to Washington that month as well and I don't know if our house in Oklahoma will be rented and that makes a difference. Maybe the stars will align. Love you.

Here is a link to a 12 week half marathon training program. You even have two weeks to mentally prep before you start this one :) (to be on schedule for June 12). http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm

And here is the marathon training guide:

I just signed up for the half marathon today! I wish I could do the full marathon but that will be my goal for next summer. My mom says that she will do the 5k if Paula will and Cortney is considering it. How fun!
