Those pictures do not even do it justice, trust me…good thing it’s temporary, right? :)
Even though Cortney was trying to tough it out last night, we talked her into a trip to the ER. After x-rays they confirmed her nose is broken. They also suggested seeing an eye doctor as a precaution because of her history. For those of you who don’t remember or didn’t know her in her youth, she was born with a lazy eye. When she was little she used to wear a patch over her right eye in an effort to correct her lazy eye (left). After three surgeries they were able to correct it from crossing, but she is still legally blind out of it. Since her “good eye” is basically swollen shut, she is essentially blind right now. She says she’s just been keeping her eyes closed in order to avoid headaches.
The eye doctor this morning said everything looks good. She will have a follow up appointment in 30 days or so. From what I understand she is now at the dentist getting x-rays on her teeth. One of them has been bothering her so good thing Mom works for one!
Needless to say I got about 4 hours of sleep. I feel so bad and wish it would’ve been me. I told Joe if you think I’m a wreck when my siblings are in pain, be prepared when it’s the boys, or our children!
cort that is the saddest thing ever! i'm so sorry! you are so dang tough. let us know how it goes with your eye and teeth.
Cortney! I'm soo sorry! I can't even believe you have to go through something like this. We're praying for you. Try to be happy, okay!
court i think it is awesome. how many full grown women get black eyes from doing a sport. not many! and a broken nose. oh just like my boys and your name sake aunt le anne. ha ha joan that was for you!
Ouch! I'm so sorry, Cort! Geez that must hurt so much. Such things should never happen, especially so close to your birthday!

Real quick, since I'm too lazy to create a post. Cortney looked so much better yesterday. Her eye is not swollen shut anymore so she is able to see. She is getting blacker and purple-er :) but less swollen. I believe she sees an ENT Specialist tomorrow (Friday). She has updated pictures on my Mom's camera. I know she took the memory card with her last night, so watch for an update on her blog.
