Collateral

Two Wednesdays ago, the night of the big snow storm, Tony was on his way home from St. Mark's and he decided he better get some gas for the slow drive home. For some reason he didn't slide his debit card before so he had to go in to pay. When they ran his card it was denied. He did some calling and the bank told him that they had issued new Mastercard debit cards to replace the old visa debit cards and they had closed his old card. This all happened while we were on the cruise so we didn't realize. So now he is stuck with no cash and no checks. So they tell him he needs to leave something as collateral. They say he could leave his phone or drivers license but he will need those things. He is racking his brains trying to think of something, he offers a golf club, they say no. Finally he offers his iPod. One lady didn't even know what it was and the other lady was like, "Yeah we can take that, it's expensive." So he asks if it is going to be okay and they said they would put it in a safe.

He didn't have to work until Saturday so when he went in to pick it up they had to go get the manager and he was like, "Uh, one of my cashiers took it." So it is gone but they reassure Tony they will get him a new one. So they ask what model it was and Tony tells them how they don't even make that model anymore so the guy tells Tony he may luck out and get a brand new one.

So after many phone calls back and forth the manager finally finds a time to meet Tony at the Apple store. Mind you this is almost two weeks later (what a hassle). So Tony got a new video iPod with new headphones and a new case. It turned out to be pretty sweet. When they went to pay the manager didn't have enough money so Ton had to pay for some of it and has to go back to the gas station AGAIN to get reimbursed. And I think the guy is still going to charge him for the gas. Crazy.

Things are good. I am slowly getting the house put together. If it weren't for going to work everyday life would be perfect. Just kidding, I just can't handle waking up early.

Blog to your motha...Jess
