Moving Time!!!
So we finally got our orders for our move late Friday afternoon. Monday morning I went straight over to Transportation to set up our movers. We have them tentatively scheduled for the 9th and 10th, a final housing inspection on the 11th and then hopefully we will be out of here on the 12th. They won't know if can get the movers that soon until either Thursday the 3rd or Monday the 7th- the 4th of July is very inconvenient for me this year:-). But... my home teacher works with the civilian side of all the moving contracts and he came over yesterday and got a copy of my paperwork and a copy of my orders and he is going to make sure it is a priority and make sure there is a quality assurance person out here with the movers. They go to about 50% of the moves and he thinks mine should be one of them. I agree. Why are we so anxious you might ask? They are trying to hold housing options for us for Ellie, school starts in Monterey on the 4th of August and we want to get home in time for a trip to family while we have absolutely no household goods.

Last night we bought a Honda Odyssey Touring minivan. I scanned all my info., we discussed everything on the phone, I had to get copies of Mike's ID and license, and they are fed ex-ing all the paperwork. It will be ready for pick up when we arrive. That is a huge relief. We got, what I think, was a really good deal with a 2.9%. Not quite as great as Kenn and Barb's 0% but I don't think Honda is as desperate as our American car dealers either. Mike and I are now dealing with the fact that he won't be getting a sporty little coupe and I am now officially a "soccer mom." It hurts in a way, I'm not going to lie. But it will be awesome. Poor Sadie has been sitting next to Ellyn in Mike's little Beamer and is sporting several scratches, a bite mark, a few missing chunks of hair- she will be the happiest I believe (these are all when Ellyn's happy by the way).

Sawyer has a few of his own bumps and bruises but those are all from different sources- his attempt to scale the kitchen baby gate, his run in with a dining room chair, and still his sore below his nose from his porta crib. I don't know, all these baby proofing objects causing injury. We should do a 60 Minutes investigation.

We have our pre-inspection today. I'm hoping against hope that they don't make me re-paint my front entryway. Chances of that are very slim.

I've cleaned out the girls huge bathroom upstairs and that is where we are putting everything we will be taking with us. I'm going to mail a box of stuff this week. We are going to have to take the train to Frankfurt to get on our plane. The shuttle is booked and we are too big and it's too far away for people to take us. So... it will be me and the kids, the double jogging stroller, Sawyer's carseat, the girls' boosters, two suitcases, the dogs in their carrier, and a couple of backpacks. KILL ME!!! But it won't be totally impossible and I think we will have a non-stop to San Francisco. We can't book our flight until Monday, when we find out about the movers. Funny that Sawyer and Ellyn won't even be in their stroller, Sawyer will be in the front pack and Ellyn will be walking!

Well Ellyn didn't get the memo that today we were going to sleep past 4:45 so I am looking forward to a day of feeling like I've been hit by a truck. I was up till 12:30 working on the van and talking to Mike. She should crash just about the time she gets to pre-school but she's sure a happy girl right now. OK, time to get a move on- hey literally! Julia, fabulous to have you and Brinders on the Blog. Blog out!

Hey Brookie! COngrats on the mini-van. It didn't hurt my pride at all to get one (I grew up in VW buses ya know). I LOVE ours. We sold it yesterday, however. ):
