Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Okay, I decided to take the same idea a lot of you did. So
here is the Utah Bennett Family Christmas Card! This
was our family get together on Christmas evening.
Cortney and Rodger were kind enough to have it
at their house. We had dinner before and then
opened presents. It was so nice!
This is Dan (probably Lindsey's 3rd date with him, she has
known him for a long time. He got dropped off at our house
after he and his parents went horseback riding. He didn't
know he would be coming to our family party!)
Before this at 5:00 p.m. I get a call from Lindsey. She asked me
what I was doing. I was just getting into the shower to get
ready for this dinner. She then said that she had been
in an accident! I wasn't sure whether to believe her. But
because Lindsey NEVER crys I knew it was real. I grabbed my
keys and told her I was on my way. I asked if she had
called anyone else. She hadn't. She tried to explain
where she was but she said there was no way to get to her.
She was on the exit to get onto Hghy 89. She told me she
had hit her head pretty hard. I was staying calm but
inside freaking out! Long story short, I called Brad and
she called Dave and Ashley. I was literally going to
scale up a hill on the side of the highway to get to her
but she was able to drive her car to us. Someone had
swerved over into her lane and she swerved to get
out of the way. There was a bucket that she hit and
next thing she knew she had hit the median and was
up on 2 wheels. It is amazing she didn't tip over.
She was so sad because this was in her brand new
Rav 4 that her dad bought her. (I pitched in about
an 1/8 of it : ) Surprisingly no damage to the body
but something with her wheel. (Dave could tell you)
Ashley! All smiles there but should I tell you now that
New Year's Eve Eve, she too was in an accident. We
were all going to meet for lunch. Right past my house on
89 a snowplow pulled out in front of her, making
a U turn in slow motion! She knew it was slippery so
she tapped her brakes. She avoided him by inches
but turned a complete circle and hit the inside median
then slid around again and hit again, landing sideways
on the highway with cars coming towards her. She
had 2 people stop and give their numbers and help
her before we got there. They said that it was the
snowplows fault. Her car is probably totalled.
Her air bags never came out but she has welts
from her seatbelt. Lindsey and I hid in the back
of Dave's truck because we didn't want the officer
to see us. It was the same one that Lindsey had!
Ashley and Dave are doing great. Ashley has decided
to go back to school. She works at her Dad's office so
her and Cortney work together. She loves it. She
gave Dave a dog for Christmas that will be arriving
January 21st from back east. It will out weigh her
but that's what Dave wanted! Dave still has his car
dealership in West Bountiful. He does a million other
things also. Motorcross, Rockwell watches. Really
I couldn't tell you what he does. He is amazing with
Ashley and the two are loving life in their new
home that their having fun decorating!
Brad, Chels and Rodger. Rodger's holding the new member
of the Covington Family. Gracie. She is a Vizsla and is so cute!
The boys got her for Christmas. Brad is good to come to
all our family get togethers. Dave said that we are the
weirdest divorced couple he has ever known! Hey, it works
and no stress to the family!
Our wonderful dinner that everyone contributed to.
Cortney and Rodger are doing great. They had just
gotten home off of a cruise. They are the partying/game
couple. Rodger is doing amazing at his job and stays
so busy. Cortney went back to school and got straight
A's (okay, one A-) She is very anxious for it to start
up again. You will rarely see Cort and Rodg without
each other. They are inseparable!
What a picture. For those of you that don't know,
Lindsey will be moving to Savanah, Georgia January 8th!
Her and her best friend will there until May 21st!
They will be working at Del Sol. It pays for everything
but their food. Lindsey just finished up with her
many jobs that she had. She just finished another
semester of school and is a little stressed that she
will be behind but plans to come back and start
up again. I can't tell you how much I will miss her!
She helps me with so much! I'm not sad that I will
be an "empty nester" but sad that she won't be close!
Lindsey honestly is the kindness, most caring person ever.
I have a trip planned in March to go see her. It will be so
different without her around. We love you Lindsey! (P.S.
she went blonde for about a week and a half and is now
back to dark) Yes her poor head had blusters!
Why I didn't get Joey and Sarah in here I don't know!
Chelsea and Joey and family are doing great! Joey is
still working at Fusion Imaging and enjoys his work. I
swear he works with his best friends! He stays very
busy. He has been on many hunts and I had a great
dinner of pheasant. I absolutely love talking to him
about emergency preparedness. He is into it like
I am. The boys are busy with school. Isaac finished
up with football and now they are both signed up for
Junior Jazz! Joey will coach Isaac's team. Should be
fun! Keaton does scouting and volunteered at the
old folks home to play bingo with them. He is such
a thoughtful boy. Little Sarah is amazing! (What
else can I say) She is crawling around and pulling
up to things. She definiately has her little personality
that is so fun to watch. We absolutely love her!
Chelsea is now going to be a stay at home mom since
her nanny is moving. She will go into work on Fridays
where I will watch Sarah for her! I am so amazed at
the schedule that she keeps up on. She is so organized
with those boys and keeps up on their home work
and being the most loving and patient mom ever.
The other night I went over to watch the kids while
her and Joey went to a Jazz game and she even had
her and Joey's P.J.'s folded on their pillows for when
they got home! (Who does that?) She has even
started to cook! Amazing!
Little Sarah and her loving Aunt Cortney!
Just hangin out at Cort and Rodgers!
Sorry this was so long. A shorter version will be on
my blog but it had been awhile since I had posted on here.
As for me, I'm just trying to keep up with my kids. I can't
tell you how much they mean to me. This last week has
been fun and stressful with the wrecks and getting Lindsey
ready to leave. I know angels are watching over my little
family! (Jacki said that Mom is very busy up in heaven!)
I had someone say to me the other day, that they weren't
sure that Christ is our Savior. When you hear something
like that it makes you sit back and realize what we do have. I
know he is our Savior and that he loves us. I hope and
pray that this next year we will remember him in our
lives and strive to be kind, loving, patient non judging with
one another, as he is. I am the luckest/blessed person ever!
My life is amazing! Thanks to all of you that make
it that way! Love to All!

Beautiful girls and such a wonderful fam! You know what, not to crash any mother/daughter get togethers, but Geof. and I (and the kids) are planning a trip to Savannah in March. Weird, right? I read a while ago that March is the best time to go to Savannah..so..shall we meet up? Even if just for a meal?

I love that you and Lindsey were hiding from the cop. Awesome. At least neither of the accidents were their fault and the girls are okay. Great post and pictures!

Great update Joanie! I'm glad Ash and Linds are okay. Snowy roads are the worst.
