Long Time No Tree

So you have all probably seen the object lesson where you put all the little legos into the container and then try to fit in the big legos and they don't fit, so you have to put the big legos in first and then everything fits and the little legos aren't neccessarily bad yadah yadah yadah... Well I vowed that I would not read anything, write on the blog, get out all my new books and language DVDs on Germany, etc... until I had finished the Book of Mormon and so Friday morning the girls and I finished the last three chapters. What a wonderful feeling and what a blessing it has been for our family. I'm so blessed to have such sweet little girls that love reading the scriptures and look forward to it every night. This has been an eye opener, our children are capable of such great understanding, they can feel the spirit, even if they don't follow everything. We've always read each night, but this has just been amazing, to really delve in and immerse ourselves (mostly because we were pretty far behind). I hope I can keep it going. I just think of the potential.
I wonder what suit Jane will wear when she's speaking at General Conference... What were they saying about pride again?

Linds- Thank you for the Merry Christmas wishes. I hope you had a great Christmas Break. I love that you are on here.

Joel- I don't know how you were able to blog, maybe your mission allows it and I think it is wonderful. I loved your story and I am so happy that you are living right and able to hear and follow the promptings of the spirit. I really hope we get to hear from you more often.

Cameron, I hope now that the holiday rush is over we get to hear from you more often as well.

Hmmm... Having said all that let me give a brief synopsis of our holiday season. I think every event that took place centered around food. I decided to start a food journal and yesterday's consisted of three pieces of fudge, five pieces of these gooey delicious cookie bar things, some dried cherries, a cracker, two slices from a meat stick mom and dad got for Christmas, mac and cheese and jello and finally a decent dinner with ham and fresh pineapple and beans and sweet potatoes. Phew for the end of the day because I was way sick looking at my list. Scary thing is that I think if I would have started this in the beginning of December it would have looked the same every day.

We have played hard all through Christmas. Mike was able to spend Christmas Eve with us via web cam hooked to his parents huge tv. He was even angel Gabriel in our nativity. It was about as perfect as you could get, except having him home of course. The next morning we kept the laptop in the living room so he could watch all the girls open their presents. It was very cool. One major milestone down in this very long year.

Last year my new year's resolution wasn't anything too specific. I decided to do more good things. More days of being a good wife and mother, more personal prayers, more journal writing(thanks to the blog, I've done this), more effort in my callings etc... My favorite scripture is in Alma and I don't have it memorized but basically it says by small means are great things accomplished. This gives me hope and keeps me going. I think I will keep this same goal this year. Maybe eventually my small things will add up.

I love you all. I hope you had a great Christmas. Remember, more good blogs babies.

Love, me
