Here's hoping that you have a happy 30th birthday. You still look the same as the day I met you. Thank you for being such a great wife, mother, and best friend. We love you. Geof., Cole, Dayne, and June.

This winter

Meags fell asleep by the fire last night.  It was pretty cool.  Now she won’t go to be because she’s a Tetris Party addict.  Click here for some photos of the storm up here.  Just a few shots of BG like no one’s ever seen it.

Scary huge chunks of ice!!

A million pictures!! What we've been up to in the cold NW

We went outside to do a little playing in the snow this morning (church was cancelled) and our car doors were frozen shut. Everything was covered with a layer of ice..

June waiting for me to find her boots

The snowman the kids built 2 days ago and threw down the hill today. Poor snowman.
We had fun throwing huge chunks of ice into the orchard.

Little Kaia's chunk was bigger than her!

Happy Tristan. You can't get this kid outta the snow.

Mindi and Le Anne made Jason a very yummy sour cream chocolate cake for his birthday. 24 years old!
Cole trying to talk Jason into letting him blow the candles out.

The first day of snow, either Monday or Tuesday of last week, we all went up to Cory's parent's property in Amboy to go sledding. We couldn't believe all the snow!

Lastly, or should I say firstly, since these pics are in order from most recent to not so recent, Pa made a yummy mountain man breakfast for us all and we enjoyed it at Lewisville park with a roaring fire. We love that park! We've had so much fun (and a tad bit of stress) with all the cousins here. Merry Christmas to all!

Happy Birthday, Jason

Adam showed up bright and early to make biscuts and gravy at the Allen home to celebrate Jason's birthday. LeAnne and I showed up with the kids and fun was had by all. Then the whole slew of us left for sledding at the other Allens (see post below), leaving Ellynn, Jason and Finn all by their lonesome (I'm only guessing they really enjoyed the peace and quiet).

Snow in BG

There was a speck of snow on Saturday and Sunday.  Conditions were so terrible church was dismissed in the middle of relief society (but I kid, conditions were not terrible at all).  We all made it home safely.

Board Game Article

Some have asked me for advice on board games as I am kind of a niche collector of the same. Here is a great article that showed up in the SF Chronicle: link.

Thanksgiving Day 2008...

Better late than never...right?!?

There are a plethora of reasons why I haven't blogged in a while but at the top of the list is probably no time/energy.  So without further ado...

Our Thanksgiving was good.  I had been sick with the flu for three days prior.  Then the night before Indie decided to forget how to sleep through the night.  She insisted on being rocked to sleep and then every time we went to lay her down she would wake up, so for the first time in a very long time she slept in our bed.  I think she was a little sick too and she had been having a rough couple of days.  Needless to say our night was horrendous.  At 5 a.m. we finally got her to sleep in her own bed.  We decided to skip the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Day 5K and instead we just woke up at our leisure.  We went to Annelee's for a delicious breakfast of scones and hung around there for a bit.  We got home in time to all take a nap before we went to dinner at my parents.  Dinner was amazing as usual but I was still too sick to eat enough to feel proud of.

Grandma and Grandpa Rigby, Aunt Joan, Leash, Kev and the kids, Lyd, Mom and Dad, and me, Tony and Ind were all there.

Every Thanksgiving at Mom and Dad's we go around the table and say what we are grateful for.  I feel so blessed for so many things...
Tony
Indie and the progress she makes every single day
Family
Friends
  A beautiful home
Our jobs
Our health
A degree and no debt.  Thankfully my parents paid for half of my tuition and I was able to work while I went to school to pay the other half.  This is something I have been truly grateful for lately.  Thank you Mom and Dad.

On a lighter note...
Here is the 7-Up Salad that I was assigned to make.  This is my grandma's recipe and a hit around our house.  I have tried making it twice and both times something was not quite right but this time I nailed it.  You are probably thinking, "what could be so hard about making a jello salad?"  Well who knew jello could be so finicky.  Here is the recipe in case you want to give it a whirl.  The secret...let the jello dissolve completely.  Yes, I'm 27 and I don't know how to make jello.

Grandma Arlene's 7-Up Salad

2 packages lemon jello
1 cup boiling water
3 cups 7-Up

Dissolve jello in boiling water and add 7-Up, then add

1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
2 bananas sliced
2 cups marshmallows

Let the jello set up

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons corn starch
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg (slightly beaten)

Cook ingredients together and let cool, then add

1 cup whipped cream

Spread over the jello salad and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.  Cover with foil and refrigerate.  Make the night before.

Enjoy!

Finn’s Here!

Well the day finally came, it was only 10 days later than predicted. Finn was born on December 3rd, 2008 at 10:43 a.m. There’s lots of stuff I could write about this but there’s not much time since I do have a new baby. I’ll save some of the stories for Ellynn since she’s more talkative than me anyways. I’m gonna put in a bunch of the pictures for you guys to see. For the complete album of pictures taken so far go to Finn’s Delivery in my Picasa albums. Here’s a few of the best ones to tide you over till then.
