Baby Adam
Texting this takes too long so i will just keep updates here on the blog. that way no one is left out of the loop or getting second-hand info.
Adam is currently doing fairly well. We didn't name this kid Taisto for nothin! (Taisto means "battle" in finnish). He went to radiology this morning and had a lower GI done. They did not find any blocks, kinks or twists. Everything looked great so that is the good news. So it might be nothing, just a slow-moving bowel that caused a backup or a small blockage that worked it's way through.
The other possibility that our doctor is concerned about is a disease called Hirschsprung's. This is basically where a section of nerves along the bowel isn't working so it causes a backup. In that case they would have to find the section of bowel that isn't working and remove it. This is easier said than done but it's not the worst.
The radiologist and surgeon finally conferred and they are going to take the suction tube out of his stomach and feed him a half an ounce of milk tonight. In the morning they will do more x-rays and see if the milk has worked it's way through or stopped somewhere along the track.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! They are truly appreciated and felt. Keep em coming!
We got the bear for Adam too. Thanks guys :) It is darling and Adam feels the love!
I will continue to update the blog as we find out more info so all you suckers are just gonna have to start reading it again if you wanna know anything!
Love all
Ellynn

Family Races
{I stole this photo of the Beechers from FB without permission} In an effort to conserve our family's most precious resources (i.e. time and money) Adam asked that we limit races to two big ones per year. I've already burned through mine and am eagerly anticipating next year. Can we plan some family races to do together next year? The BolderBoulder? The Green River Tri the Beechers did together? The Tri that Ellynn wants to do next October? What say ye?

Woodland Lake
Adam took Sierra and Kaia on their first backpacking trip. Two days, one night, 9.1 miles total. Adam said the whole time the girls kept saying, "Dad, take a picture right here, it is so beautiful, it looks just like Washington." I hope the Washington forests aren't being destroyed by pine beetle like our forests are.

Old Rag hike with Dad
Geof. and Cole hiked an 8 miler called "Old Rag" for Labor Day. Cole was so excited to be out having alone time with Dad. In Geof.'s words: "Cole's a mountain goat. Scampered all over the rocks and passed many people on the trail. All while shouting, 'this is awesome!' as he went."
